Summary: War is a final ending for thousands upon thousands of human lives, whose full potential will never be reached; animals, buildings, beautiful landscapes, the environment polluted with harmful, oxygen robbing gases, rendering the atmosphere unlivable, and dead ending dreams.
Having lived through the wars of Viet Nam, Kuwait, Desert Storm and The Iraq war, and still there are more battles being fought across the globe: Syria, Palestine, Israel, countries in Africa racking up the body count, loss of culture, homes, businesses, land and its mineral deposits. Animals too are victims of man’s blood thirsty greed. I cannot help but wonder; how many leaders of these nations believe that they must answer to a higher power, once their lives are no longer relevant on our gift given Earth?
Why is there no compassion, no empathy; is it because the faces, cultures, class, or economics don’t reflect what is seen as worthy, or normal a life to be represented and protected; is what can be obtained, taken, and stolen from a lesser foe, to enrich the stronger combatant the only real and truthful reason?
The following excerpt is taken form from “Living the Wisdom of the TAO The Complete TAO Te Ching and Affirmations.” ~ Dr, Wayne W. Dyer
“Weapons are the tools of violence; all decent men detest them., Therefore followers of the Tao never use them. Arms serve as evil; they are the tools of those who oppose wise rule. Use them only as a last resort.
For peace and quiet are dearest to the decent man’s heart, and to him even a victory is no cause for rejoicing.
He who thinks triumph beautiful is one with a will to kill, and one with a will to kill shall never prevail upon the world. It is a good sign when man’s higher nature comes forward. A bad sign when his lower nature comes forward.
With the slaughter of multitudes, we have grief and sorrow. Every victory is a funeral; when you win a war, you celebrate by mourning.”
